In previous posts, strategies on truck accident prevention have been provided. From keeping an eye out for a large truck’s blind spots to being careful when passing, there are many ways that drivers can try to avoid large truck crashes in Huntington, West Virginia, and on roads across the country. That said, it is important to remember that drivers cannot always prevent a semi accident.

A 56-year-old woman was recently injured in a semi truck crash that took place in Virginia. According to law enforcement officials, the woman was driving a car when she tried to pass the semi on the shoulder of the road. Next, the woman’s vehicle and the semi crashed, causing her car to hit the median. The accident happened in Newport News on I-64.

The semi truck driver, a 33-year-old man, did not suffer any injuries in the accident. However, the woman was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries she sustained in the collision. After the accident, which took place at roughly 6:15 a.m., authorities had to close lanes for a number of hours. Officials also say that the driver of the semi, which was carrying marble, over-corrected, causing the truck to roll over.

When a truck accident happens, victims may lose their lives, suffer debilitating injuries or face devastating financial and emotional hardships. If a careless or reckless trucker caused the collision, they must be held responsible. For some truck accident victims, consulting an experienced legal professional is a good idea and can provide a clearer understanding of which steps to take.
